Technology Sucks......Or Does It!!!

Hi bloggers, I am back today with another card for the Drunken Stampers Challenge Blog!!! Whooohoooo!! I must apologize since I missed last weeks posting!!  Unfortunately my week started with what was supposed to have been oral surgery, that in the end did not go ahead.....and of course......as luck would have it and as if on queue, I have had problems with my teeth since then.  Hopefully, any infection will have cleared before my next scheduled date at the end of the month or else it will have to be postponed again!!! So fingers crossed.

Anyway.....that being said, back to the job at hand.  This weeks challenge as you would have guessed from my posts title is "Technology Sucks".  So this week we want to see all those creations which are made using those tools that do not require electricity or batteries!!!  How hard is this one going to be Challengees?  For some of you this challenge will prove to be very easy, for others this will be a real hassel and for others almost impossible.    For me....well it was not too bad, since I have a Big Shot and it requires MANUAL labour!!! hahahaha.  So today I ventured out to celebrate those "modern" tools that celebrate muscle power and this is what I came up with.

Now I should mention bloggers that this little lady is one of the newest members of the Tickled Pink Stamps range.  Her name is Lil Pinkette Pippa!!!  Is she not adorable?  Now a lot of people have been asking me where you can locate this little cutie, so to order yours click this link right away! (the sentiment and die is also from Tickled Pink Stamps). One more bit of information you should know is that these images are available in both rubber and digital format but digital formats are only available once a month and digi week is here already this month, so for those of you whole love digi stamps, you had better go quickly, before the week is up!  So, that taken care of, all of you wanting to take part in this weeks super fun challenge please head over to our Drunken Stampers Challenge Blog and link your creations before 11:59 pm Friday, April 22nd.  We love seeing all your creations each week so be sure to join in.

Please also check out the awesome creations by Tracy, Linda and Spikes for extra inspiration and spread some love whilst you are at it by leaving them a comment.  We all love to read your comments and feedback. Until next time bloggers, have a great day stamping and scrapping.

Hugs,

Tash Daly

Hi there bloggers!!! Firstly a quick note regarding my very limited appearance on my blog lately (actually, everywhere on the internet)  I have been experiencing continual internet problems since the last windows update was installed. So to all my bloggers, my sincere apologies.  I am expecting to have the issue repaired over the next week!! Yipeeee!!!

Secondly, its Drunken Stampers time (actually I am a little late due to my issues but nonetheless) and the challenge this week is a colour one!  You must use teal, coral and purple, geee it was a toughie.  The super excellent news is that we have a sponsor this week....drum roll please....ddddrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr D.R.S Designs is in da pub this week!! For any of you that are not familiar with this excellent company here is a little about them:

D.R.S Designs - a family owned company since 1950 boasts hundreds of original rubber stamp designs. All images are available fully mounted, completely unmounted or mounted on cling cushion and are proudly hand crafted in the USA. Our rubber stamp collection includes a wide assortment of images including tons of sentiments, easy background designs and fun technique stamps such as our stained glass and plaid designs. The D.R.S Designs website features a huge card sample gallery, online demos and tips, a secure shopping area and information on our free club, Rubber Mania Monthly. Now bloggers, you know what this means don't you?  Yep, that's right there is a PRIZE this week!! Not that you are interested I am sure, nobody loves freebies and discounts do they? "I do, I do, I do" I hear you say?  Well get on over to Drunken Stampers and submit your card to be in the chance to win!!  Here is what the lucky winner will get:

So head on over to DRS Designs to check out what stamps are available.  In the meantime, here is a little peek....

Isn't he cute!! I have used Jelly Bunny Bean and Four Corner Butterfly which has four designs on it including the butterfly's and the little branches that I have added to the Jelly Bunny Bean image.  I thought he was perfect for including some Easter treaties.  I have just used a old brads container (I am such a hoarder) and have cut a hole in his tummy big enough for it to fit through.  To access the treats you just open your card and open the little box which is glued to the card, easy!!!

For more examples of what stamps are available check out my fellow designers (their links are in my sidebar) and view their fabulous creations.  Make sure you give them some love whilst you are there and don't forget to head on over to D.R.S. Designs to check out their full range of stamps.

Till next time bloggers, happy scrapping/stamping.

Hugs,

At A Loss For Words

Hi there bloggers, its Saturday and therefore time for another Drunken Stampers Challenge.  This weeks challenge is themed "At A Loss For Words" which means no sentiment, no text.  I thought this was going to be rather easy this week, but it turns out it was a lot harder for me to restrain myself from using text or sentiments.  I often use text in my backgrounds or in creating papers and usually always include sentiments especially when trying to combine challenges...but, it was not altogether impossible.

Over the past several weeks there is one particular blogger that I follow who always creates the most beautiful work, what has become somewhat of a trademark are her little bookmarks which are super duper cute.  Who is this blogger you might say...well you have probably encountered her from time to time as her work is everywhere but the little lady is Emma Chatburn from The Two Pink Ladies.  To make these little cuties, Emma uses the tutorial posted by Splitcoast Stampers Beate Johns, you can view the tutorial here.  What makes Emma's bookmarks so special is the way she decorates them!!!  (you can see plenty of examples by visiting her blog,) I am sure you will agree that they are very cute!!  As a result I have been inspired to make one of these corner bookmarks for a number of weeks now, so this week, I did for this challenge.

In making this little bookmark, I followed the tutorial (see link above) and covered the little bookmark, once made, with cardstock from DCWV's "The Endless Summer Matstack" (I love these stacks), the paper had a design of sky with white clouds. I sprayed it very sparingly with some Glimmermist in "Sunshine" which gave it a little yellow colour and a lovely sheen. I also sandwiched some cream lace between the corner bookmark and cardstock before gluing them together. I sprayed a piece of corrugated cardboard (I tore from a box) with "Antique Brass" Glimmermist and once dry rubbed over the top with distress ink in "Tea Dye".  I then used distress crackle "rock candy" to give the cardboard some sheen and crackle appearance.  Using a Whiff of Joy die I cut a couple of little tufts of grass from some paper from DCWV's "Citrus Stack" and glued them in front of the corrugated cardboard "fence".  The image I have used is from "The Greeting Farm" her name is "Summer" and she is part of the "Roll Call" set.  I coloured her using copics E50,E51,E53,E43,W5,E31,E33,E35,E37,E47,YG00,YG02,YG06,RV000,R20,R22,BG10,B02,Y11,Y06 and Y08.  The banner is made using a Whiff of Joy die and a number of scrap pieces of paper from my stash attached to a piece of cotton twine.  I then used some Kindyglitz "crystalina" to add glitter accents to the whole project (gotta love that glitter).

Now before you head of to start your own entry for this challenge be sure to check out the blogs of my very talented team members (Tracy, Linda, Peggy, Spike) as they have some gorgeous creations of their own to share with you.  I hope you will join us this week for the challenge and have some fun.  In the meantime, happy scrapping/stamping.

Hugs,

Tash Daly

Great News and A Special 1st Birthday!

Hi there bloggers, well haven't I just been so excited to share some news with you!!  Following the excellent response and comments I received for my "Christmas Snow Globe" post as part of the Drunken Stampers Whiteout" Challenge I am please to announce that they have extended an invitation to me to join them as one of their Design Team Members. Of course I said YES!! Whooopeeee!!!  Thanks very much ladies, I am so stoked to be joining such a talented team (make sure you stop by their blogs also).

So, here I am...  My first DT creation and what better time to be joining them than on their very first Birthday!  Happy Birthday Drunken Stampers!! In order to get into the swing of things for its very first Birthday, this weeks theme is all things "Birthday".  I took up the gauntlet and after meters of tape and a multitude of chipboard and paper I came up with a fun and perfectly themed gift/goodies box: Dah da!

This was a really fun project and I think it will come in handy for various special occasions by housing and presenting many goodies with flair. Of course you can make the box however high you like but because I wanted it to enclose a bottle of wine or liqueur I needed to ensure that it was tall enough to encompass all I wanted it to enclose.

I hope this encourages you to put your thinking caps on, try something a little different and to have some fun while you're at it by joining us here at Drunken Stampers.  Perhaps get some girlfriends together while you make your creations over some good conversation and a nice bottle of wine (we are the Drunken Stampers after all).  But just make sure you submit your creations by 11:59 pm PST (Pacific Standard Time) each Friday.  The more the merrier so hop along and have some fun. We hope to see you there.  Make sure you also check back here often to see more Drunken Stamper creations.  See you again soon. :-)
