Major Disappointment

Well bloggers, it seems that once again it was not to be..... after staying up all night to resize my photo's and try uploading them to The Greeting Farm gallery I managed to miss out in loading my images in time!!!! Boooo Hoooo!! I am so disappointed.  It is now 1.10 pm and I still haven't slept and I have no chance of winning the prize now (not that I probably ever did, however a chance would have been nice) I am going to bed....Better luck next time I suppose.  At least I got one stage further this time and actually posted something even if it was in every section but the one it was supposed to be in!!

Good night all.....I am off to cry myself to sleep. :'-s

Update:  I have managed to post my images and submit my entry, whooohooo so happy! Fingers crossed.

The Challenge Virgin

Good morning bloggers, we as I have now written on a number of occasions I have been intending to enter a challenge for a couple of months now.  Well that day has arrived.  There is finally a challenge for which the prize is absolutely too good to resist!!  If you wonder over to The Greeting Farm's blog you will find the challenge details.  Basically the challenge was to create a gift for a hostess to give to her guests.  Since the challenge was set before Christmas it gave me an idea as to a nice little gift that I could give my guests following my Christmas Eve dinner.  I decided to create a little folder which would hold a photo of the recipient taken on the night of the function (in this case it was Christmas Eve).  I ensured that I photographed all my guests and later printed the photo's taken and placed the same in one of the folders that I had pre-prepared.  The folder also included a thank you message and greeting as well as the event information and a copy of the menu to be sent to each guest as a permanent reminder of the evening shared with us.  This is what I have submitted.  The prize is the cheeky pie rubber stamp, plus rubber stamps of the entire January release.  As those who know me already know.....this is the ultimate prize for me because I looooooooove The Greeting Farm stamps.  Wish me luck!!!! :-)

Promised Photo's

Well good morning bloggers!

I am still aglow after my win yesterday.  I can't wait until I receive my new stamp set and when I do, be assured that I will be posting some projects which will incorporate the new stamps here.  In the meantime, I promised that I would be posting some photo's of my latest crafting project (the Christmas present album which I have yet to finish for my little one's father - I know, slack aren't I).  So as promised here they are.

So, what do you think?  I think I really need to get my butt into gear as I clearly have a long way to go!  So that's it from me at the moment.  Ciao for now.

Great News

Hi there bloggers, (ok so it's still my one and only follower....:-( )

GREAT NEWS!!!!  It is 4:30 in the morning and I was just getting ready to go to bed and thought I would check some of my favourite blogs before I going to sleep.  So I merrily logged on to The Greeting Farm blog to check out the next sneak peek of their new stamps (soon to be released, can hardly wait) and low and behold....my name appeared on their blog!!! Yes that's right, I won something!! Whoo hoooo!  I won a set of the "Little Dreamer" stamps set (which is sooooo cute by the way). Anyone who knows me knows what a thrill this must be for me since TGF is my favourite stamp company so to win a precious stamp prize is just more thrilling that words can express!!!!  What a great end to my day.  Anywhooooo I must sign off now and go and email Jess to arrange my prize. Whoohoooooo, won't I be a little dreamer tonight!

Sweet dreams to all.

Tash :-)

Merry Christmas

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas.  I hope everyone has had a lovely day.  I for one spent it busily with family and whilst it was oh so lovely to spend time with everyone I really couldn't wait till everyone went home....  You see I got a fabulous new gift for Christmas.....yes you might guess it...it is something crafty.....it is..........a "BIG SHOT" (whoops and cheers) yipeeee!!!  I could not wait to get down and crafty and break my new toy in.    I have been busily working away on a couple of new projects one of which I did not get a chance to photograph before I surrendered it to the worthy recipient although my sister promises she will photograph it extensively for me so that I can put the images up here.

Another of my new projects was to create an album for my little one's father as a Christmas present full of pictures of him and her of moments they have shared so that he can always have her with him even while they are apart.  I am sure that he will be very please with it.  I shall post some progress photo's soon.

I have also been working on submitting a project for what will be my first challenge for the The Greeting Farm.  I have to work out how to photograph it properly so that I can include it here before submitting it, since I want the best chance possible of winning their "Hostess with the Mostest" challenge.  The prize if their whole January release....wouldn't I be absolutely stoked.  I just love their stamps.

Another bit of exciting news is that one of my most favourite bloggers and scrapists (if that is even a word) has just been announced as a farmer for TGF!!!  I can't wait to see what she produces.  Her name is Sari and I have been following her blog and you tube video's for the past couple of months.  She is an absolute genius. If you get a chance you should check out her blog.  The link is listed in my favorites below.

Anyway, I have just returned from a night of Mahjong fun at my Auntie's house so I am buggered.  It is already 4 am so I must go but I will try to post again soon.  In the meantime, take a minute to have a sneek peek at the greeting farms new stamps, the link can be found in my favorite links.

Until then, happy scrappin :-)

Getting Ready

Hi bloggers, I am getting ready to fly to the Gold Coast tomorrow to take my daughter to her father for the remainder of the school holidays.  It is a quick 5 hour turn around flight before I get my hair chopped short....whoohooooo!  I figured that since I would be idol on the plane and at the airport for several hours my time would be better served colouring in stamped images ready for card making when I get back home.  So my copics are packed and I am up late stamping page after page full of stamped images in preparation for my flight.  But now.... its bed time.

I look forward to posting some of my latest cards etc upon my return and perhaps even a shot of my new hairdo, fingers crossed its a good one.

I'm Baaaaack!!!

Ok bloggers, I know it has been a long time since my last post and the blog looks a little different too!!!  However, I have now begun selling my craft under the new banner "Tamali Creations".  The name is a combination of 2 initials from my mums, my daughters and my names.  We all live together the name is special to me as my mum and daughter contribute towards my artistic process.

Anyway....time for my new resolutions:

1) I must enter some challenges (I have not done this as yet and have been too scared, but I will resolve to overcome this soon).  I will post my entry here soon.
2) Must post something, anything, to my blog at least once (for starters) a week!!
Well this is the end of my first blog since my resolution so lets see how I go.  I must now go and pack bags for a flight to the Gold Coast tomorrow with my little one. So till next time.  Happy Scrappin/Stampin. :-)

I've been slack haven't I?

Hi all.  Well I am well and truly overdue on a post.  But my weeks have been filled with a mini album project that I am glad to say that I have now completed (details and pics to come) and a number of scrap classes.  So I have been kept very busy.  Well it is very late and this slack mummy must go to sleep a big couple of days coming up....Soccer at 4am on Monday (Dutchy family so a big event).  In the meantime, for anyone living on the Central Coast who has not seen a Laycock Theater Production by the Gosford Drama Society... get down there and get tickets.  We saw the junior production of "The Wizard of Oz" tonight and it was fabulous.  We have such great local talent.

Enough from me.  Will try to post again soon, when I have recovered from the lack of sleep ahead!!

Happy Scrappin. :-)

First Blog....First Post....

Well as you can see, I am very new to the world of blogging.  So here goes.....  I hope my blog gets a damn sight more interesting then this otherwise I am afraid that it will be lots of time wasted.  As you can see in my profile I am also new to the world of scrapbooking and as such I would really appreciate any tips, comments, suggestions or even suggestions regarding what sites to look at etc.  I have already posted a list of some of my favourite sites (yes no surprises that some of the most renown ones are there but for the moment they are the crutches I lean on whilst I navigate this new, beautiful and highly addictive new hobby.

Over the past month, I have been working on a number of projects.  My biggest one by far is a guest book/album for my nephew to celebrate his 21st Birthday.  The album however, is still in construction as I am waiting for all the photo's to be provided so that I can complete the album.  My nephew is addicted to illustrating and he is excellent at it, so I used colour and black and white copies of a number of illustrations from "Scary Girl" by Nathan Jurevicuis'.   This is the end result:

The front of the album is featured above, whilst the picture below depicts the back page:

I was pretty happy with the overall result.  But I did have a couple of hiccups.  For starters the mod podge remained tacky for quite sometime as a result the 21 became somewhat glued to the cover page.  In the end I just affixed it in any case.  Not sure why that was...any clues?

I can now also say that I have completed my first few scrapbook pages...yippee following some great tips learned in the "Easy Scrap 1" course I have been attending every Wednesday morning at the Erina Scrapbook Store (my thanks to Roz and Odette for their continued patience and assistance).  The store has some excellent classes and I am a regular to most now.  The following pages are my the pages I have been working on:

The page above was my first.  I had so much fun creating it and the photo's really lent themselves to a fun theme.

On my second page, I enjoyed the challenge of continuing the them whilst also working out a fun way to include some journaling.  In the end I decided to add a flip down on the tree I created to allow for this.

I tried a different theme for my third, just to enable me to play with some different papers and journaling blocks etc:

Over the past few weeks I have also been trying out some card making.  The following pictures are a few of the cards that I have been pumping out:

The 3D cards were made using templates and guidelines printer in the latest issue "Card Making with Paper Sculpture" Magazine and where lots of fun to make.  I was really pleased with the results.

I have also attended a number of other classes and the following photo's are of the projects that I have completed:

"Grunge Rose Box Album" This class was lots of fun and was taught by Sarah Schwerin at The Erina Scrapbook Store.   The class was run last month.   Sarah's classes are really fun, but watch out fellow newbie scrappers...they are very fast paced and I often feel like I need a glass of wine afterwards, which actually is not such a bad thing..haha...is it.

Sarah is also currently running the card class which resulted in the following cards:

Again a very fun class, which taught me some great stamping techniques and in fact got me so motivated that I went straight home to play with some other papers.  I came up with this variation on the theme, but I am not so sure that it works that well...What do you think?

All that is needed is a greeting stamp, but I am currently waiting for my order of the Darkroom Door "All Occasions" rubber stamps to be filled....can't wait for that one!

Lastly, I also attended a class which will help me utilize my Cricut and was run by Dawn Lewis and held at, yes you guessed it, The Erina Scrapbook Store.

This was a fun little project, that I can't wait to adapt and utilize for our next family gathering. Thanks for this one Dawn, it should make our tables look rather fun.

Anyway, the time has come to end this, my very first blog. To all my friends who have been practically ignored whilst this new hobby takes over my life, my sincere apologies and I hope you enjoy looking at all the things I have been creating. In time you should be on the receiving end of some of my projects.

To everyone else, thanks for stopping by and reading. Happy Scrapping :-)
