A Prize for a Sponge!!

Hi bloggers, whooohoooo, its prize time at the Drunken Stampers Blog this week. Yep, that's right we have a fabulous sponsor this week to match our terrifically fabulous theme!! This weeks theme is "Are You Sponge Worthy" so we are looking for sponged backgrounds.  The winner will receive 3 digital images of their choice.  One restriction to note however, is that the card must be new and not be entered in any other challenges to be eligible.  So,.......... are you anxious to find out who our sponsor is? (drum roll please....ddddddddddrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr)

and to tell you more of this fabulous sponsor we are happy to introduce Tracy:
Im Tracey Malnofski, the artist and owner of The Stamping Boutique.
My team and I are very happy to sponsor Drunken Stampers! My store has been open since September 2009. I am currently a stamp artist for Unity Stamp Co. and I’ve worked for InStyleStamps, Squigglefly, and TheDigiShack in the past. I’m a professional artist and an active member of the Artist’ Guild in my community. I have quite a busy household with a husband, 3 teenagers, 5 mini-dachshunds and an Appaloosa mare. It’s noisy, but I love them all. I’m truly blessed.
“The Stamping Boutique” is dedicated to quality products and original artwork. We not only provide wonderful digital images in our store, but also several lines of red rubber images. Our designers are chosen for their character and personality,as well as,
their beautiful designs. We work hard to give you our very best. Thank you so much for having us as your sponsor this week.
Now for my card.  I saw this image and couldn't resist!! My plan was to actually show you how to adapt and use images for more than cards by making a little top and jeans set using this image, however, unfortunately my sewing machine is on the blink!!! Darn it! However, as you can see the image is equally cute as an Easter Card.

Well, since jeans were my original plan for this little cutie, I thought I would sponge a jean effect using a sponge (of course) and Distress Ink in Faded Jeans.  The bunny was also sponged using Distress ink in Pumice Stone!!  I have actually not used this technique in a looooooooong time and had forgotten how fun and easy to do.  I really love the effect!

Ok bloggers, now its your turn! Grab your sponges and get too creating gorgeous cards or projects for your chance to win this fabulous prize.  Now be sure to check out my fellow designers blogs for their super inspiring projects and of course visit our sponsors blog for further inspiration.

Be sure to link your cards before 11:59 pm, Friday 8th April to be eligible for the prize.  You can link your creations by clicking here.  Until next time, thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping/stamping.

Hugs,

Tash Daly

Its All About Him!

Hi bloggers, back again with another post for the Drunken Stampers this week.  Challenge# 60 is now underway and this weeks theme is......."All About Him".  Yep that's right all things that celebrate the men in your life.  I can't wait to see the entries for this one.  I have already previewed some of the DT's cards and their projects are STUNNING, so be sure to check them out.  As usual their links are in my side bar.  Now for my card:

Well this was a fun one, however a bit of a challenge for me since I don't often make projects geared towards men.  My task however, was made easier by this super cute stamp from Tickled Pink Stamps.  How cute is he??? I looooove him.   The background paper is also super awesome and terrifically matched to this image and was created by the very talented Cristy Croll owner and creator of all the Tiddly Inks images.  As any of you following my blog will know, I have just started getting into creating dangles and charms and as such I could not resist in making "treasure" to attach to this card.  It has been attached to a "memento" pin which has been secured between layers of the dimensional tape which makes the bottom corner of the card raised.  I was pleased with the final result.  That is it from me today ladies, however don't forget to visit my fellow DT's as their projects are truly inspiring.  Till next time....happy scrapping/stamping.

Hugs,

Tash Daly

This card has also been submitted to the Tickled Pink Challenge Blog

Computer Issues!

Hi bloggers, just wanted to let everyone know that over the past couple of weeks I have been experiencing major computer issues, crashes and interruptions.  I has been making it very hard for me to post and has caused major delays.  You will also have noticed limited "appearances" at challenge sites and other blogs and this has also been caused by these issues.  I really appreciate your patience and apologise for any delays.  Thanks everyone. :-)

Anyone for Swaps??

Hi there bloggers, just wanted to share with you a new found passion.  I have recently discovered SWAPs!!!  You are probably all laughing, thinking "Girl....you're a bit behind the eight ball" and so it seems I have been, but better late then never.  Anywhooo, I have joined a couple of fabulous ning sites (scrapbooking forums) and have met some fabulous women and have jumped right in boots and all.  In case you are interested bloggers and want to check some out, check out Paper Phenomenon and Life on the Scrapbeach for some fun, fun, fun!!  Both sites also run free ustream classes which are also super fun and I strongly recommend both sites.

Well, so far I have completed a couple of swaps so I thought I would post some of the goodies I have been creating.....  Firstly, I entered an ATC swap with a Spring/Easter theme, which was hosted by Kim at MoeScrap, thanks Kim!  I don't know about all of you, but I for one, have never seen let alone created an ATC!! So I thought this would be fun.  For those of you like me who did not know what they are, they are basically artist trading cards which scrapers like to collect and swap.  They are supposed to be a mini representation of the artist.  Well I am not sure that I did it right but for my swap I sent out this little cutie:

As I stated I am not sure whether this is what is expect for an ATC, but I hope that the ladies like it.  What do you think?

Next I entered a Spring/Easter Themed Tag Swap, again hosted by Kim.  I really enjoyed this one although I went for a more vintage look and  hope it is not all together too dark for a spring theme.  This is what I came up with:

On the reverse of the tag I added a little pocket for a tag which could include a photo or journaling etc.  The tag which is in there currently has my details and swap details on it.  I was pleased with how it turned out, however, I hope that the ladies that receive these love them too.

Next I thought I would try my hand at charms.  I have never made a charm or done any jewelery making or any such thing.  Lucky for me, there is youtube!!  You've got to love youtube.  I found this swap on my The Scrapbeach and there was two themes for March, the first is a Mardi Gras theme, how fun.  I ordered some great charms online for the occasion and got to work building a fun and colorful charm.  Now again, not having done one of these swaps I am not sure whether what is expected is just a charm (single assembly) or a dangle (grouping of charms on a chain).  Anyway, I am sure that I will soon find out.  In the meantime, this is what I have created for this swap:

I used shrink plastic and stamps to stamp out the little ticket and then shrunk it into a perfect charm to use on this dangle.  I have a couple of charms still on order but as yet they have not arrived and since these need to be in the US by 25th March I had to send them without the other charms.

The second theme for the charm swap is a St Patrick's theme and again, I am really disappointed as the special charm I had ordered has still not arrived.  I ended up having to send the charm without it.

These were fun and I really enjoyed making them.  Once again, I only hope the ladies that get these feel the same.  Well bloggers, that is it for me at the moment.  I will hopefully be back soon with some more swap photo's to share with you.  For all you ladies who are experienced in this, I would really appreciate some feedback including some constructive criticism, I promise not to get offended.  Until next time, happy scrapping/stamping.

Hugs,

Tash Daly

Twisted Fairytales at Drunken Stampers

Hi bloggers, well its that time of the week again.....yup you guessed it Drunken Stampers time!!! yippeeee!!  Well bloggers this week is a really fun theme...."Twisted Fairytales!!!"  How fun is that!!  So this week for my card I used one of my favourite stamps "Fairy Kira" which comes from Tickled Pink Stamps.  Isn't she gorgeous!!!  Now a couple of weeks ago when I first stamped her out, my daughter Lily said she looked a little evil.  So....for this week, that little comment came to mind and I thought I would use her for my twisted fairytale inspiration.  I thought that I would do a little twist on the "Cinderella" story and have Cinderella's fairy godmother turn her into a pumpkin instead!! hehehehehe.  Anyway, I had a ton of fun making this card as it is sooo super duper dimensional!  Last week the Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge Blog had a black and white + one theme and I was also inspired by that theme when making my card.  I chose the colour red!!!! I looove it with this combo.  Anyway, my only wish is that the photo would better show the colours of her hair etc, cause it is much deeper and richer in real life but oh well, you get the picture!!

So now for my card...

Ok bloggers, now its your turn.  You have until 11:59 pm March 25 to get your creations in.  I look forward to seeing them all.  In the meantime, don't forget to pop over to Spike, Tracy and Linda's blogs to check out their creations for some more inspiration.  Their links are in my sidebar.  Till next time bloggers, have fun stamping/scrapping.

Hugs,

Tash Daly

What WOOD You Do?

Hey bloggers, its Drunken Stampers time again.  So head off to our virtual pub and start crafting up your new creations.  This weeks challenge is "Faux Wood". This is a fun little challenge so jump on board and get involved.

Today for my card, I thought I would finally utilize some of my Magnolia Stamps which have not been inked as yet.

My faux wood is made with a combination of stamps, colouring and a textured embossing folder.  It has been mounted on dimensional tape to give it a little depth.  I bought these stamps last year but haven't used them as yet and although summer is over, while spending time scrapping by the pool earlier today I really felt like creating a card with a summery feel.  I created a frame for my picture, which then forms part of the card.  I made the scenery by layering a number of papers, and stamps using dimensional tape again to give it some dimension.  The left side of the card has a little pocket which incorporates a little tag with a lovely beachy quote.

Be sure to check out the creative designs that our Design Team have posted by jumping across to their blogs and giving them some love.  Their links can be found in my sidebar.  You have until 11:59 pm Friday, 18 March to link your creations here.  Can't wait to see what you come up with.  Until next time bloggers, happy scrapping/stamping.

Hugs,

Tash Daly

Now bloggers, for my design....

This was a real challenge for me cause any of you followers know that I do not usually do "Vintage" but this week I decided to have some fun with a design that I first saw a little while ago on the blog of the very fabulously talented Marlena called Paper Papillon.  Now of course many of you are familiar with Marlena's work as I only recently found out that she is a contributor to this fabulous Challenge Blog.  So thanks Marlena for the inspiration.

This sidestep card was really fun to make and I only wish that I had taken progressive photo's as it was fun to see it transformed from a singular piece of cream cardstock to this.  I cut the lamp and the flower vase from the card at the back and then popped them up so that they appeared to be sitting on the dresser.  I then prettied up the back with some extra card stock and pretty paper.

I then decorated the side and made a cute tag.  The flowers are all handmade and beaded (thanks Drew from Scrappy Happiness for your excellent lollipop flower tutorial).  Now for the close-ups.

Well bloggers, that's it for me.  Thanks for joining me again today and popping over to see what I have been up to.  Be sure to jump over to A Spoon Full of Sugar and check out the designs that the other lovely designers have created for you this week also.  Once again ladies, thanks for having me on your fabulous challenge site.  Until next time, happy scrapping/stamping.

Hugs,

Tash Daly
